League Roundup

Friday night saw the last round of League games with the top four in each Group progressing to the League Quarter finals and the bottom three entering the League trophy.

Duncannon travelled to Rosslare and missed out on the chance to move ahead of Corach into the top four. Despite only travelling with the bare 11 they put up a good showing against Rosslare, with the home side prevailing 2 nil with a goal in each half from Derek O’Connor and Ian O’Leary.

The top of the table clash turned into a complete one-sided affair as Campile sealed top spot against a severely depleted home side in Kilmore, with the visitors cruising to a 9-0 win. Adrian Panther Flynn helped himself to a hattrick, PJ Banville and Ken Cahill got 2 each and John Byrne and Shane Whelan also got on the score sheet.

In the Groups Final Game, Cushinstown claimed the bragging rights and moved off the bottom at the expense of Fastnet whom they beat in a 5 goal thriller with a late Keith Katus goal proving to be the winner in a 3 -2 win Katus grabbed a double on the night with Damien Fee Cullen getting the other goal. Darren Walsh and Gary Doran replying for Fastnet.

In Group B only one game was played and it resulted in a win for Taghmon in a high scoring encounter as they prevailed 5-3 in an 8 goal thriller against Curracloe. Shane Power helped himself to a hattrick and Jay Murphy got a brace in return Aidan Clarke, Damien Logan and Darragh Connor scored for Curracloe.

Forth Celtic and Adamstown will be on Monday night the 4th July.

The top of the table clash between Enniscorthy and Arklow never materialised as Enniscorthy conceded the game to Arklow meaning Arklow top the Group.

This Friday sees the Cup Quarter Finals take place. Corach will travel to Kilmore looking to cause a shock against the Cup holders. Fastnet will entertain Courtown while Curracloe will play Forth Celtic ,Campile received a bye into the Semi Finals.

In the Shield, Duncannon will be massive underdogs against an Enniscorthy side still smarting from their shock first round Cup defeat to Corach. Adamstown will host Taghmon while Arklow will make the long trip to Terrerath to play Cushinstown. Rosslare received a bye to the semi Finals in the Shield. All games will kick off at 7.30pm
